Q:  Who owns the license for the Certified Disciplined Agile Instructor under the new program?

Q:  How long is my Certified Partner status valid?

Q:  As an instructor, what is the process for becoming a Bronze Partner?

Q:  What are the benefits of renewing as Certified Partner in addition to my Certified Instructor status?

Q:  What am I getting for my investment as a Certified Partner?

Q:  What are the current Instructor Fees?

Q:  Do I have to be a Certified Partner in order to be a Certified Disciplined Agile Instructor (CDAI)?

A: No.  While we hope that you choose to be a Partner you may choose to be a CDAI, and not join the partner program.  The annual fee for being a CDAI is indicated on the Instructor Program details page.  We are priced to be competitive with other certification programs, as well as to make it practical for CDAIs who do not wish to pay extra to promote themselves using the partner program.  Independent contractors who want to subcontract their services to teach for Certified Partners may be candidates for this approach.

Q:  Who owns the license for the CDAI under the new program?

A:  The license can be owned by either the Instructor or the Partner, depending on who pays for it.  If the Partner owns the license, then the Instructor is not allowed to teach for other Partners unless those Partners pay for a license on the Instructor’s behalf.

Q:  How long is my Certified Partner status valid?

A:  Your partnership is valid for the duration of your current Instructor agreement, typically one year.  When it comes up for renewal you will be give the opportunity to renew as an Instructor only, or renew as a Partner.

Q:  As an instructor, what is the process for becoming a Bronze Partner?

A:  We will be sending out an agreement for your new partnership.  Please note that we will need to know if you would like your partnership to be in the name of your company for promotional purposes and listing on the website.  We will also need an electronic version of your logo for the DAC website.  Once we receive this information, we will send the new agreement.

Q:  What are the benefits of renewing as Certified Partner in addition to my Certified Instructor status?

A:  We hope that you will see the value in the benefits as described on the Certified Partner Program page.  You can use the Partner logo branding to help market your services as an Instructor but also that fact that your firm has CDAs, and CDAPs.  We are increasingly being asked for references of companies and consultants that are certified to help organizations adopt Disciplined Agile.  Additionally, you receive discounts on your teaching royalties making your courses more profitable.

Q:  What am I getting for my investment as a Certified Instructor?

A:  In addition to the benefits outlined in the Instructor Program, there are other advantages of becoming a partner.  We can all benefit from the growing awareness of the value of Disciplined Agile.  The revenue from the partner program funds administration of the Consortium as well as marketing activities.  For example:

  1. Once an Instructor schedules a course, an advertising campaign is set up, the course is set up on the Consortium schedule of events, included in the Newsletters and Scott and Mark will tweet about the course.
  2. There may be Disciplined Agile Consortium booths at Agile conferences, paid for by DAC.  The primary purpose of the booth is to promote certification and our partners.  We will prominently display a banner with current partner logos (you must be a partner in good standing two months prior to each conference in order to have your logo on the DAC Partner banner).  Any Certified Instructor or Partner is welcome to spend time at the booth, and we would be happy to have your marketing literature available for distribution.

We are working hard to make the Instructor program more valuable to you.
