Since 2015, Franklin Templeton has used DA to adapt technology and PMOs to a much more agile operating model. We partner better, operate with agility and exceed the industry demand to gain competitive advantages.

Franklin had attempted a shift to agile (Scrum) several years ago, but the shift was not embraced by all teams within the PMO, business and technology.

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) started its first agile teams in 2013 using basic Scrum. In 2016 the organization continued its agile journey with a pilot of Disciplined Agile.

The pilot was successful and DA adoption was started by the Information Services Department with the vision of delivering value to stakeholders by improving delivery speed while maintaining quality and minimizing risks.

Using DA since 2014, MCAP:

    1. offers 3-day Disciplined Agile Delivery Experience workshops (DA 101) with on-site coaching to delivery teams;
    2. offers 1-day Disciplined Agile Delivery workshops (DA 103) to executives;
    3. co-located IT delivery team members with Product Owners from the business;
    4. asked teams to identify and implement small, incremental process improvements, using retrospectives to explore what was working well and what they could do better;
    5. has rolled out the Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) process decision framework to multiple delivery teams.

Early May 2013, a roadmap for transforming the organization was produced through an assessment of the Organization and Teams.

Next a multi-year vision for moving the company towards agile and lean was created via Disciplined Agile Executive workshops.
