 TORONTO AGILE CONFERENCE
We are proud to have been a Gold Sponsor at the Toronto Agile Conference this year. We met a lot of great people from local companies that were either following a Discipline Agile approach or were in the process of adopting one. Scott Ambler gave the keynote, "Crushed by Technical Debt?".

                                      Certifications

Disciplined Agile (DA) is evolving. In order to keep your knowledge of DA current, all member's certification will be due on June 1, 2017.

The requirements to retain your certification are:
DA: 7 hours of DA activities in the 2 years prior to renewal, such as education, attendance at events, webinars, attending a DA workshop
CDA: 7 hours of DA activities in the 2 years prior to renewal and pass the current online test
CDAP: 14 hours of DA activities in the 2 years prior to renewal, pass the current online test and submit references for experience gained since your initial certification.

As always, there is no membership fee. We feel knowledge and experience is the best indicator of proving you qualifications to maintain your certification.

For details about the certification programme, see Certifications.

As a Disciplined Agilist, are you using the logo and certification initials in your signature line?

We congratulate our most recent
Certified Coaches and Instructors:

Rod, Kristen and Rajshekhar !

Help evolve Disciplined Agile by participating in discussions at the DAD LinkedIn Discussion group.

               Webinars

We hosted 4 webinars since June and had 182 members and nonmembers attend.

October 24 hosted 49 registrants for Scott Ambler's  "Crushed by Technical Debt?" webinar.  In this presentation he overviewed what technical debt is, how to avoid it, how to detect it, how to fix it, how to fund it, and when to accept it.  As you would expect he presented a range of options and the trade-offs involved with them, putting his advice into context with actual stats from industry.

On November 24, Mark Lines presented "Governance, Phases and Milestones, are not Agile Dirty Words!" webinar.
In this webinar Mark reviewed the four DA lifecycles along with their associated phases and milestones. He explained which milestones are highly recommended vs those that are considered optional. He showed how a lightweight Vision statement created in Inception can be used as a governance mechanism for moderating uncontrolled change that often happens on agile projects.

All webinars are available on the DAC website and also on YouTube.
Blogs of these webinars and other Disciplined Agile topics are found on the DAD website.

Remember to retain your current certification, webinars will be held on the third Thursday of each month, 9 times per year, not including July, August and December.

Mark the following dates for the upcoming webinars in your 2016 calendar!
February 18, March 17, April 21, May 19, June 16, September 15, October 20, and November 17.

The next webinar will be on
Thursday, January 21, 2016

Invitations will be sent out in early January.
Even if you cannot attend, register to save your seat and a link will be emailed to view the webinar 1 week after. When you view on Go To Webinar, this will count towards your certification renewal!
