This page answers Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the Disciplined Agile (DA) Chapter Champions program. It is organized into a collection of sections:
Q: What are the concrete expectations of the DA Champions?
A: The DA Chapter Champion Program is an opportunity for chapters to get engaged with DA to bring DA resources to their communities. DA will assist chapters with planning webinars, communications and promotions. In turn, PMI will promote DA classes, and offer giveaways and promotions. Champions are expected to provide basic presentations regarding DA and its position within PMI, DA events, basic DA introductory content provided by PMI. Certified Disciplined Agile Instructors (CDAIs), as well as employees of DA Adoption and Training Partners, may be appointed by their Chapters as a DA Chapter Champion but will not be permitted to provide training for a fee at their chapter to avoid any potential conflict of interest
PMI will develop and make available guidelines to help the chapters and champions to maximize outcomes.
Q: What are the benefits for DA Champions?
A: The Champions receive access to content and promotions to support their local communities. More will come as this program grows and matures. As DA Champions embody the role, consider what would be helpful and let us know.
Q: Is there a plan defined (training/certification/objectives) for the champion role?
A: We are developing guidance for chapters and champions. At this point in time as it's a brand new program, having agile and/or DA experience will be useful.
Q: How long would a person hold the DA champion role? Until they drop out?
A: Yes, unless the chapter wants to set a term limit. It also depends who is serving in the role - an elected (termed) board member, appointed (termed or not) member or ad hoc volunteer.
Q: Are there any conditions to organizing an event about DAD in the local chapter?
A: With the chapter! PMI supports chapters and organizing trainers to work together. Work with your chapter board to bring forward the idea.
Q: Do you have any timeline when champions program actually starts? And any due date for nominating champion?
A: It's happening now! The majority of PMIChapters have named champions - and we will continue to accept DA Champions as it makes sense for your Chapter to nominate one or more individuals to serve in the role.
Q: Will the Choose you WoW book be available for DA Champions? Will those be sent to the chapter president or the DA champion?
A: Each CHAPTER will receipt 10 copies of the book: Choose Your WoW!: A Disciplined Agile Delivery Handbook for Optimizing Your Way of Working (WoW) (2019) Ambler & Lines. It is expected the chapter will give one of these books to their chapter champion. PMI head office will co-ordinate sending the books as soon as possible.
Choose Your WoW! book update (20 December 2019)
We are working on delivering 10 copies of the DA Book, “Choose Your WoW!” to you but first we’re bringing the publishing of the book in house and making revisions to ensure it aligns to PMI standards. We want you to have the latest and greatest version of the book to properly support your chapters. We expect to begin shipping these directly to you at the end of March.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to sharing the newest version of this to you this spring!

Q. Can chapters become training partners?
A. No, Chapters cannot become DA training partners. Chapters and training partners are encouraged to collaborate one another to find win-win solutions for local communities.

A. Chapters and Authorized DA training partners are encouraged to collaborate one another to support the needs of local communities.
Q: Are you going to sync the www.pmi.org and https://www.disciplinedagileconsortium.org/ SSO login?
A: Yes - and there are many points of integration work besides that going on beyond SSO in terms of unification of the websites and membership platforms.
Q: We are going through digital transformation and think that we want to bring agile to our community. Can DA help us do that? Bearing in mind that we have coaches who are not pmi members.
A: We suggest registering to the DA Consortium to learn more about DA. You can also view many free Resources.
